In a medium bowl: beat together 1 cube butter, softened, and 1 1⁄2 sugar.
Add 4 eggs and combine well.
Add 1-teaspoon vanilla and 1 1⁄2 cups sour cream. Put aside.
In a large mixing bowl: combine 2 3⁄4 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1⁄2 teaspoon salt.
Add 2 cups berries of choice and make sure berries are coated with the flour mixture.
Make a well in the flour mix and add the wet ingredients and stir only until flour is mixed in. Batter will appear lumpy.
Sprinkle sugar on top of batter in muffin tin.
Spray muffin tin with PAM and fill with mix to ¾ full.
Bake in preheated 375-degree oven for approximately 18 to 20 minutes.
